This is what we asked and what he said:
1. When did you start SGU? How long did you compete with the team?
I started SUGU in 7th grade and practice and trained with the club until my senior year of high school So, 5 years 2011-2016.
2. Which events did you participate in?
Long Jump Triple Jump and Sprints
3. List your accomplishments. (Listed under photo)
4. Where did you attend High School?
Grant High School
5. What was the biggest change for you mentally or physically after joining the team?
My biggest change was really the whole technical aspect to my sprinting. Before SUGU when I ran I was just grinding through my events but SUGU helped develop frontside mechanics and real sprint form.
6.What's your favorite memory?
Boise Indoor my junior year was pretty awesome. I PR'd in 2 events and broke meet records in 3. Traveling with the SUGU team is so much fun and the Boise meet is a great place to compete hard and create a stronger bond with your teammates.
7. What's your advice for future members?
Have fun! Practice is hard, however, the work you put in will determine the results you put out and there is nothing more rewarding than setting a PR and standing on that podium.
8.Where do you attend college?
University of Arkansas
9. What are you events now?
Long Jump and Sprints
10. What was it like to join a college team out of high school? Did you feel prepared?
I was moderately prepared. However, no matter how good you are out of high school there is no denying that college track and field is a whole different ballgame.
11. We would love anything else you have to add or share with us.
SUGU is a phenomenal program and without the help of Hashim and Christina I would never have had the success that I have.
